Our peach tree finally put out. She has been teasing us these past two years. It's been hard to stay faithful, and not touch the forbidden fruit of another fruit tree, but finally! My patience has paid off by a whopping 13 peaches! Almost 2 full pounds of fruit people. We couldn have behaved like normal people and ate those 13 peaches, but I have a 4 year old. Those of you that don't have 4 years o...

Meet SunnySunny is the latest member of the Neophyte Homestead. He officially belongs to my middle son. Sunny is 21 years old. He is undernourished, needs a farrier, and some teeth work done. As you know this isn't our first time with an older animal or one that is in need of extra love. Our middle son has been begging for a horse for well over a year now. Ditch Dentistry is an interesting topic. Even though it is old school, it is something that you might think about looking into if you choose to live out in the middle of no where. I thought there were 3 but I can't seem to locate the 3rd one. If it was you, could you please remind me? Thank you.First one is from my mother. I think she is biased on giving...

great
Phelan knows her stuff and is happy to pass along her knowledge without snark, rudeness, or a mightier-than-thou attitude. She has a self-deprecating sense of humor which always has me in stitches.

For someone who is trying to learn how to homestead, this site is great. It makes me feel like I'm not the only newbie out there, plus the header picture makes me laugh every single time I visit. Good person, good writing, good information.
