So, it's taken me so long to update, because I've sprained my wrist and it's hard to type. But, I plan on doing an update on my Eckles side of the family. I recently became acquainted with my third cousin on the Eckles side and he had some interesting...
Valuable information, laced with the author's opinions, with which I happen to agree. I've even found an article about a mutual ancestor here at "Echo of the Past", Matilda of Flanders. It's a pleasure to read Carrie Eckles' historical genealogy site. To know that the author is such a young lady is encouraging. It's rare to find people in their twenties who care deeply about history.
I have put a link to it on one of my pages, because I like Echo of the Past so much. http:www.elegantsurvival.net/historybytes.htm
What an interesting blog concept. Wouldn't it be just as interesting if we all too could have 1,000s of names in our family trees like the author, how would we all connect. Fantastic witting that keeps you interested and want to keep reading more. Great job!
I think the blog is fantastic. An amazing blog full of opinions and historical information that might be useful to almost anyone. The only drawback that I can find is that I wanted to see Carrie Eckles family tree. I think a link to a visual rendering of it would be amazing.
Though Echo of the Past is a fairly new blog, it should prove a good resource for someone interested in the nuts and bolts of researching a family history.
It's also a peek inside the research of the author's own genealogy as well as the trials and tribulations of working on such a massive project.
Since my mother has published several volumes of family history and is somewhat of an expert on genealogy, I plan to send her to Carrie's site for a visit.
Very nice!
