Frontspin

Feb 8, 2010
With a performance on-tap for the South by Southwest festival and a headlining slot secured at PAX East, MC Frontalot is ably positioned to continue to front the most. To that end, his new album Zero Day is set to drop in 8 short weeks. Meaning that...

Nerd News in Brief

Feb 5, 2010
Last night I finally got around to watching the complete 47-hour Lost premiere. Thankfully, I'm still as clueless as to the island's skewed mythology as the show's own writers. Which is good. We wouldn't wanna go ruining a good ride with clearly...

Nerdcore: The Music: The Videogame

Feb 2, 2010
Nerdcore hip-hop and videogames go together like… like… two things that are… intrinsically... related… Aw hell, y'all know what I mean! Aside from drawing a sizable portion of its thematic inspiration from digital entertainment, nerdcore has...

Awakenings

superb
Hipster please is the best music and geek culture blog that I read. Z, its primary author is both immersed in the subject matter and a fantastic writer, well-practiced from his career in tech journalism. The writing style has a superior ratio of signal to noise while still being an entertaining, enjoyable, and immersive read. I get a fresh and complete look into the worlds of nerdcore hip hop, chiptunes, wizard rock, and all forms of geeky music entertainment all from this blog. Hipster Please provides links to a multitude of relevant sites and producers offering free and new content, aggregating information of interest to me from dozens of sources I could not read myself. Hipster Please, and its companion podcast Radio Free Hipster constitute an invaluable music resource to me.
