The following is another guest blog from Ed, remembering the good old days of 1950 La Ceiba, Honduras. Oh, my, how times have changed in La Ceiba!Standard Fruit Company (now Dole) provided more entertainment for their cruise passengers by holding a dance ashore in the company mess hall. These 'tourist dances' were usually well attended, both by the gringos and the tourists. This gave us a chance to...

The following guest blog is from Daniel, who was inspired to tell us more about current day La Mosquitia after reading The (real) La Mosquitia. I never got around to posting it and then gas prices were going up each week so it was outdated information. Prices in Lempiras will give you sticker shock, won't they? These translate to US $2.89 for diesel, $3.34 for regular, and $3.54 for super. Now, look at this:So...

My relationship with La Gringa's Blog is mostly an love and hate one... I love her blog most of the time, great sense of humour and great insights on Honduras' latest news, but then some of her comments of living here I feel are a bit harsh... It's the kind of thing that get me down, but I can't stop reading it every time I get a new update on my rss reader... Oh, and I also love her occasional recipes...
