We’ve heard about massage chairs, sled dog puppies, and giant black furniture. We’ve heard from contractors, and former best friends, and Mrs. Stevens. We’ve been regaled with stories of male-bonding and wine drinking for weight...
More developments in the Troopergate story. Palin has become very fond of the preemptive strike. Once again, in a less than shocking pre-emptive power play, Governor Palin's Personnel Board has concluded Palin's investigation of herself. ...
At a campaign stop in California on Saturday, Sarah Palin told one of her cutesy folksy hockey mom stories about reading the quote of the day on her Starbucks mocha cup. The quote was from former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. "Now she sai...
I attended the Welcome Home rally for Sarah Palin this morning. Hooo. It was an experience. About a thousand (maybe) hard-core Palin supporters showed up to hear her speak at the new Dena'ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage.  ...
I, like all Alaskans, have been glued to the news media today, watching with amazement as Sarah Palin was tagged as McCain’s vice presidential running mate. Local radio talk shows are all a-buzz. The progressive station...
Many of us found Mudflats when we were asking the question "Who the heck is Sarah Palin?" We got our answer and much more. Written with clarity wit and humanity, AKMuckraker is a steady reliable friend, an insider, thoughtful commentator and Alaskan who is paying attention to all the twists and turns in Alaskan politics. This often intersects with national politics, as Governor Sarah Palin, Ted Stevens and many others make news in the lower 48.
I read it daily.
Mudflats is entertaining and informative; I've learned a lot about Alaskan politics and Alaska itself. It's more than that- people from all parts of the world converse with each other, help each other.
And AKMuckraker is a great writer...
Keeping up on all Things Alaska, this blog covers a wide range of topics happening in the 49th State. I start every morning on the Mudflats to see what outrageous activities have happened overnight and the day before - absolutely love to read the comments and the people who post on this site - many many bright and funny people. If I could rate this blog above 10, I would! Grammy in PA
Themudflats has opened a window to Alaska for us in the "lower 48" with specifics about Alaskan politics, weather, culture, much more. No matter the outrage, there is an underlying compassion and depth of understanding of human behavior that
raises this blog to the highest caliber of professional journalism. Sense of humor, timeliness and excellent
administration and a lively forum that has developed a great community adds to the fun.
Absolutely the best blog! AKM tells it exactly the way it is - no sugar coating or equivocating. Gives credit where credit is due and a good "spanking" when called for. AKM has reminded us that our elected officials have been hired to work for "We the People", not the other way around and that we have the right and duty to call them out when they are not working for our best interests. We've been like zombies for the past eight years. Thank you AKM for reminding us how democracy should work. LiladyNY
Take one Alaskan blogger, add one Sarah Palin, add one Nation's most memorable Presidential race, stir vigorously, and what do you get? One of the most enjoyable political blogs out there! (and the comments are just as fun to read as the posts)
