After yesterday's flight to Masterton, I thought I would do something a little different today. Today's flight was a reasonably short, but didn't really get close to it... because I was up at 13,000 feet for the first time :-)
I took my usual...
... and 80 odd years that the Wellington Aero Club has been operating here :-)
Wellington International Airport held it's 50th anniversary open day today. It's been 50 years since the "new" airport was opened, although as I noted above, Wellington...
I went flying today. No particular reason except that I was keen to get out of town for a short flight and Masterton fits the bill well enough. Today's flight was 1.4 hours return, which I thought was pretty good considering that I had to go the long...
A quick catch up from last weekend. Firstly, a Helipro Robinson R44, ZK-IBJ which performed an approach and overshoot. The second is a Cessna 172M, ZK-DRS, registered to Air Manawatu Ltd which performed a touch and go. Lastly is a Piper PA34-200T,...
More on the catch-up pictures. This time I have a few pictures from last weekend.

Rodney's blog doesn't pretend to be any more than his own view of aviation happenings in his life. The photos are always as clear and as well composed as possible and document a side of aviation that perhaps many don't see - that of an air side and/or airborne pilot. It is an especially worthy visit for local Wellingtonians.
I liked this blog. It is really good to see a blog that covers a persons personal interests and yet includes a wide range of aviation from large commercial to helicopters and fixed wing trainers.
What I like best is that this blog is not a rehash of other content on the internet - it mostly seems to be the author's own work.
Lastly, the pictures are very good, and well worth the vist in and of themselves!
