White Rooster And Red Roosters

Nov 4, 2009
Every year we have this same dilemma. . . too many roosters.  Now if we were up to turning a live rooster into a dead rooster and all it entails to get one ready to cook, it might not be so bad. But we aren’t, and that means we always end up with too...

Guinea Fowl At Sunset

Nov 3, 2009
Every evening the guinea hens and guinea keets come in to get a little feed.  They’re generally waiting for me about sunset, perched on gates and pallets. As the light turns golden and night is coming on, there will be a BUNCH of them waiting for...

The Dead Animals Need Love

Nov 2, 2009
We came back from the grocery store yesterday to see a pasture full of dead animals. Buried among the weeds was our Maremma, looking like nothing more than a pile of old white fluff. It kind of looks like I just threw a white fleece out in the...

superb
This blog is awesome. Photos are great. Text is informative and witty. Personally, I think the goats need to go and you have the strangest looking rooster I've ever seen. Keep up the good work maintaining your little piece of heaven on earth and giving homes to all your critters who give back in such varied ways.
