I'm a liberal to left-liberal skeptical-minded atheist. But, I don't sign off on tenets of traditional "liberal" orthodoxy, especially if they are assumed to require a Democratic loyalty oath. That's especially true with so many Democrats in Congress and Democratic presidential candidates going squishy on Iraq and civil liberties. I'm also a deliberate contrarian at times. No cow is too sacred to get skewered — that's the philosophical equivalent of the First Amendment's free speech provision.
