Hot,hot days of summer
Part 2 of 2
The days are now getting hotter and hotter. I don't know about you but I hate hot humid weather. So I just had to write about Katharina Ludwig's unusual jewelry. Her Ice Jewelry collection is perfect for the hot days...
When I first wrote about Batucada jewelry, Debbie really loved it and asked where she could buy it. At the time, it wasn't readily available but now I have found sources where you can find these amazing French designed eco jewelry which floats! You...
Benedikte brought an old barrette she had to a beading party. She really didn't like it anymore but rather than throwing it away she decided to give it a makeover with some wire and beads.
As you can see, the shape is not rectangular which made it...
I've done some origami and paper bead making in my time but that's the extent of my paper crafts. Quilling requires a whole new level of skill. This paper filigree art form involving coiled narrow strips of paper was used by European nuns and monks...
Many artisans find their inspiration in nature - the color of flowers, sky and sea or perhaps the shapes of leaves and feathers. But what about the entire vista? Zelda Beauchampet is a clever Dutch designer who lets you customise landscape inspired...
The Beading Gem's Journal is truely fantastic!! Pearl's writing is meticulously clear & concise, yet warm in tone. She has a flawless instinct for just the right amount of information with every post. Her inexhaustibly informative topics cover a 'perfect' range. She stays on-topic for those of us love-struck with jewellery, but still keeps posts diverse and interesting. I LOVE the historical pieces, but have often been helped more than she might imagine by her instructive/creative idea posts. Some days she brings us things so 'out-there' I'd never have imagined them, and at others she brings us back to the simplicity of a student's first bead creation. Somehow she manages to do such a great job, time after time (I'm sure it's not ALL she has to do!). I'd rate her blog an 11 if I could.
This blog is one of my absolute favorites. I love the mix of topics related to jewelry and jewelry making. I especially like the historical insight that is actually really, really interesting and sometimes better than the modern soap opera!
Love this blog! Pearl shows examples of handmade jewelry, writes about the history of beads and famous jewels as well. There is always something new and interesting here!
This is one of the most informative jewelry blogs out there in blog land. Every trip to Pearl's blog is a learning experience. She researches her topics exceptionally well and is always posting something different or surprisingly unique. I like to visit her site to learn about new jewelry artists, techniques and for well written overviews about history of various jewelry mediums.
Sistren Pearl is a woman with a passion for beads, beading and beaded jewelry. I have seen many unique pieces featured on her blog.
She encourages new beaders to explore colour combinations, textures and a mixture of styles.
