The Dodgers hadn't smelled 1st place since the start of the season but everything was lining up for them. Jake Peavy had cold cocked the struggling Diamondbacks and Chan Ho Park had out dueled Barry Zito. Mark Shapiro made his mark when he traded Colon for Philips, Lee, and Sizemore on June 27th 2002. Since Juan Pierre played his last game as a Dodger on June 29th, the Dodgers have gone 4-1 and look like a competitive team for the first time since Rafael Furcal went down.
