Uganda's Scarlett Lion

Reporter, writer, photojournalist. Going through life with a desire to transform experience through recording it. This lion occupies a flat in Kampala but often trawls the countryside for stories. After more than a year and a half in Uganda, we are still sans safari and therefore sans live lions. A hollowed out plastic toy with a cheap scarlett and black paint job suffices, providing curiosity, cynicism and commentary.

Nov 13, 2009
Along with partner in all things Pulitzer Center, Jina Moore, I’ve got a story up on the Foreign Policy website about the “copyrighted” law in Liberia. It’s just as crazy as it sounds: led a team of lawyers, a group called the Liberia Law Experts, to...

Nov 11, 2009
“I promise you that today, TODAY, you are going to see George Weah!” the public relations officer said to me while driving around the outskirts of Monrovia in a beat up yellow taxi. During the thirty or forty minute drive, he probably said this...
