Marriage is by definition a religious institution. It always has been, and should always be. The idea was grandfathered into existence in this country and many before it because of the beliefs held by the people. Call it something other than marriage. Call it "Civil Union". Call it "Gay Lovin"! I don't care what you call it, but I, and apparently, most of the people that reside in California, one of the MOST liberal of states agree. It cannot be marriage.
