21 Million Reasons For Mint To Sell

Sep 19, 2009
When I heard about Mint's sale to Intuit for $170 million, I never imagined that it would be controversial. I posted my congratulations to the friends who made money in the deal, and moved on. ...

What’s Wrong with Flipping a Startup for $170M?

Sep 18, 2009
Nothing, IMHO. But there’s a new debate on whether the Mint / Intuit deal was a good deal, or selling short-sightedly. I’m with Eric @CloudAve and Sarah @ TechCrunch in their call to “move past this incrementalism and start thinking big” –...

Pink Prince of Wales

Mar 31, 2009
Not HRH Prince Charles.. but a pub named after the Prince of Wales.  Vandals painted the 16th Century building pink overnight – a few days too early for April Fools Day.   Of course what’s...

Google Thinks They Invented Orion

Mar 24, 2009
The Germans beat them to it, 40 years ago:   If the colors are a bit funky, that’s because this is a re-colorized version of the 60’s black & white series, Raumpatrouille Orion, and...

Tweet Blender Wins Over Twitter's Own List Widget – For Now

Nov 2, 2009
CloudAve readers can now follow the contributing bloggers’ twitter stream in a sidebar, thanks to a cool widget called Tweet Blender.   Finding it was not easy: I combed through at least 100 plugins / widgets, all doing essentially the same: follow a...

Oct 27, 2009
The above tweet is from a San Francisco hotel, capitalizing on the "opportunity" created by the Bay Bridge closure. Whoever said Twitter was not for business?  :-) Related (and happier) post:  Another Enterprise Web 2.0 “WOW”...

SaaS CEO on Improving Website Visitor to Trial User to Paying Customer Conversion

Oct 21, 2009
I don’t claim to be an expert in the area, so this is more a quick pointer then a real post. Well, too short for a post, too long for a tweet:-) Duane Jackson, CEO of SaaS accounting provider Kashflow writes up his experience of using Google...

Qu'est-ce QUE c'est? A Killer e-Book? A Kindle Killer?

Oct 19, 2009
A picture is worth  thousand words.  So the next two images of the Que, Plastic Logic’s ultrathin, bendable e-reader should save 2,000 words… courtesy of MediaMemo: I’ve said before, dedicated e-readers won’t go away anytime soon, and...

There are good articles, but the site is not user-friendly. The tabs at the site are way too small. Not sure why it is hot as there is not even a Google PR on the site. White the blog side is nice, the navigation is links and more links to articles. Why is a IL governnor mentioned. I thought this was about small business and technology, but I am seeing non-related material to the indicted governor of IL?
