After The Wedding is a Danish film that debuted in North America at the Toronto International film festival in 2006. After The Wedding was directed by Susanne Bier who also directed Things We Lost in the Fire in 2007. After the Wedding opened in limited release in the United States on March 30, 2007, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Sidse Babett Knudsen. The film was distributed by Soda Pictures, and was produced by Sisse Graum Olsen.
The plot involves the manager of an orphanage in India who is personally invested in the lives of his young charges. The manager, Jacob Pederson, flies to Demark where he discovers a terrific secret. After the Wedding was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year in 2007.
