
Amanda Seyfried (born December 3, 1985) is a television and film actress, singer, and former child model. She is best known for her role as the obtuse Karen Smith in Mean Girls and and Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia!
Seyfried became a child model at the age of 11, from which she moved to appearing in soap operas Guiding Light, As The World Turns and All My Children. After her breakthrough role in Mean Girls, Seyfried guest starred in UPN's
Veronica Mars, with minor guest roles in House, M.D., Justice, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Wildfire. In 2008, Seyfried landed the lead role in the film version of the musical Mamma Mia! with Merryl Streep.
Seyfried is currently dating Mamma Mia! co-star Dominic Cooper and can be seen in HBO's
Big Love.
