American Eagle Outfitters - Fashion Designers

American Eagle Outfitters is a clothing retailer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1977, the company targets a primarily youthful demographic with best-selling products such as low-rise jeans and graphical t-shirts. Other brands under the American Eagle name include Aerie, Martin + Osa, and 77 kids.
The brand’s clothing styles and advertisements have often been compared to its competitor Abercrombie and Fitsch. Abercrombie would go on to sue American Eagle in 1998 for copyright infringement. However, the suits were overturned each time with the court arguing that Abercrombie’s designs enjoyed no copyright protection.
