America's Next Top Model, a reality show, debuted on the UPN network in 2003 and aired until the network folded in 2006. The show then moved to The CW and continues to run. The show, hosted by supermodel
Tyra Banks, takes aspiring models and pits them against each other to determine who will be the next Top Model.
The women are given a photo shoots or other challenges where they must prove they have the skills to be a professional model. The women get to work with some of the top fashion photographers in then world and get to wear clothes from some of the top fashion designers. During sessions the girls are coached by runway coach J. Alaxander and photo shoot director Jay Manuel.
After the shot is completed the photos are given to a panel of judges lead by head judge Tyra, and are critiqued. The model with the worst photo is then eliminated. The show follows this format until at the end only one model remains.
