
Anderson Cooper is a famous American journalist, who is best known for appearing on his CNN show Anderson Cooper 360. Cooper’s trademarks are his silver hair and his tendency to be on the scene in various breaking news stories, such as hurricanes.
Cooper comes from a famous family. His dad was writer Wyatt Emory Cooper, and his mom was designer and artist Gloria Vanderbilt of the Vanderbilt family. Cooper decided to go into journalism after his older brother committed suicide.
He began his career in journalism at Channel One. There, he forged a press pass, and he was able to interview Burmese rebels and rise above his role of fact checker in favor of actual reporting.
In 1995, Cooper got a job at ABC News as a correspondent. Before settling at CNN in 2001, he had a short stint as a television personality, hosting the reality show The Mole and filling in for Regis Philbin on Live with Regis and Kelly.
In 2002, he became CNN’s weekend primetime anchor, and in 2003, he went on to anchor the show Anderson Cooper 360. Today, he is one of the most influential and well-liked men in the news industry.
