Andrei Kirilenko started was drafted to the Utah Jazz in the 1999 NBA Draft. He did not actually play until the 2001-02 NBA season. He still plays for the Utah Jazz and continues to play for longtime Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan. Before coming to the NBA Kirilenko played for CSKA Moscow and continues to play for the Russian national basketball team during the Summer Olympics. He has yet to win a championship in the NBA, but he did help his team CSKA Moscow to win two Russian Superleague championships and the inaugural championship of the Eastern European Basketball League.
In his first year in the NBA he was named to the NBA All-Rookie first team. Kirilenko was a 2004 NBA All-Star and has been named to the NBA All-Defensive Team 3 times, one first team (2006) and two second team (2004, 2005). His wife Masha is a singer and also the daughter of Andrei Lopatov, who played fourteen years for the Russian national basketball team. He and his wife also have a son named Fyodor.
