Angel, a spin-off of
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, aired on The WB from 1999 to 2004. The vampire drama revolved around Angel, a two hundred year old vampire with a soul who opens a private investigation office and takes of cases dealing with paranormal connections.
Episodes portrayed a Los Angeles, where the show was set, where monsters and demons lived among humans and were a major part of the underworld crime world. The show was much darker than its parent Buffy. The show's ratings were good and the show developed a large cult fan base.
