Annie Hall - Movie Comedies

Annie Hall image Director Woody Allen co-wrote the screenplay for Annie Hall with Marshall Brickman. The movie was produced by Charles H. Joffe and Jack Rollins. Annie Hall is considered Woody Allen’s most popular film. Film critic Roger Ebert called it, “just about everyone’s favorite Woody Allen movie.”

The film won four Academy Awards; Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. The movie stars Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Tony Roberts, Carol Kane, Paul Simon, Shelley Duvall, Janet Margolin, Colleen Dewhurst, Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum, Signourney Weaver, Beverly D’Angelo, Shelly Hack, and John Glover. Truman Capote and Marshall McLuhan portray themselves in the film. The Library of Congress chose Annie Hall for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 1992.
