
Avril Lavigne (born September 27, 1984) is a pop singer, songwriter, actress, model and fashion designer from Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Her first album, Let Go, debuted in 2002 and sold 17 million copies worldwide. Lavigne has had 11 top ten hits including "Sk8er Boi" and "Complicated," earning her eight grammy nominations, MTV music awards, and MTV Europe Music awards, among others. Lavigne's other two albums, Under My Skin (2004) and The Best Damn Thing (2007) also reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
Lavigne married Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley in 2006. The couple live in Los Angeles.
