Away From Her - Movie Dramas

Away From Her, directed by Sarah Polley and released in April of 2007, is a story about a married couple. However, the story does not reveals the high points of love, instead shedding light on the toll that a grim reality puts on a couple. Married for 40 years, Fiona (played by Julie Christie) and Grant (played by Gordon Pinset) have a healthy relationship, that is until Fiona's forgetful tendencies is actually found to be symptoms of Alzheimer's. As the plot thickens, Fiona begins to forget the man who has stood by her side for 40 years and the viewer is left waiting to see how this burden will affect their longstanding marriage. The film, which was not only directed, but also written by Sarah Polley, grossed $7,674,385 worldwide and was nominated for several distinguished awards.
