The Blackberry Pearl is a mobile phone produced by Research In Motion(RIM). First released in 2006, it was the first Blackberry phone to carry a digital camera and possess media playing capabilities. While not unusual for the broader market, it was notable at the time since most Blackberry devices were known to be more business oriented.
The Pearl comes with a 240x260 LCD screen, 64MB of expandable memory, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi access with certain models. The camera contains a 1.33 megapixel sensor with flash, a self-portrait mirror, and supports digital zoom. The Pearl can play back mp3, aac, amr, midi, wav audio formats. MPEG-4 and H.263 for video are also supported.
