The
BMW X3 is a crossover sport utility vehicle built by German automaker
BMW. Originally introduced in 2003, it is built on the 3 series E46 platform and won the Canadian award for best new SUV of the year for 2005.
Power is provided by a 3.0L 260hp I6 engine mated to either a 6
speed automatic or manual transmission. The X3 was initially criticized for being too expensive for what it offered such as a lack of automatic lights, cheap plastics, and modest handling.
BMW has addressed most of those complaints in the current generation.
