Bristol Palin is daughter of Alaska governor and 2008 Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Bristol entered the national spotlight when Governor Palin was nominated for Vice President of the United States of America. She was nominated to run with Senator John McCain.
On September 1, 2008, Governor Palin announced that 18-year old Bristol was five months pregnant and that she intended to keep the baby. The father was later revealed to be Levi Johnston. On December 28, 2008, Bristol gave birth to her son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston. The baby weighed seven pounds and seven ounces, and was born in Palmer, Alaska. The father, Levi Johnston, is an apprentice electrician and former Wasilla High School hockey player. He and Bristol dated three years before the birth of their son. Johnston told the Associated Press in October that he and Bristol plan to marry in 2009 and raise their child together.
