Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a vampire series that aired from 1997 to 2003. The show premiered on The WB in 1997 and ran on the network until 2001 when The WB decided not to renew the show. UPN, picked up the series and it ran on that network from 2001 to 2003.
The character of Buffy was first introduced in a movie with the same name as the TV show. Buffy Summers, a teen who happens to be the vampire slayer for her generation. She is part of a long line of vampire slayers that were chosen to protect the world from vampires that roam the earth. Buffy falls in love with Angel, a vampire, making her job a little complicated. The show follows Buffy as she struggles through high school, college and beyond as she juggles her slayer responsibilities and trying to live a normal life.
The show was extremely popular and had a major impact on pop culture. The series spawned a spin-off (Angel), merchandise, comic books and more.
