Cars is an animated film produced by Pixar. The film was directed by John Lasseter and Joe Ranft. It was the last film produced by Pixar before being bought by Disney. Cars was released in 2006. The film features voices by famous actors and actresses, like Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Paul Newman, George Carlin, Cheech Marin, Larry the Cable Guy. The story is about a young race car, Lightning MacQueen, got lost on his way to race in the Piston Cup Final in California. He spent some time in a town called Radiator Springs. MacQueen met some new friends on the way and learned the true meaning of friendship. Lightning MacQueen also discovered that there's more to just winning a race as he gave up the chance to win the Piston Cup to show his respect and sportsmanship to a champion race car, Strip "The King" Weathers. The film grossed $244,082,982 in the U.S (ranked third for the year, behind Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Night at the Museum).
