Charmed was a science fiction series that aired on The WB from 1998 to 2006. The show revolved around three sisters who were deemed "The Charmed Ones" who are the world most powerful witches. Each sister possessed a unique power and when all three joined forces, the would be able to create powerful magic.
The show's premise was threatened when actress Shannen Doherty left the show after the third season. The character was killed off and the writers introduced a long long half sister which restored the "power of three" theme of the series.
Charmed is the longest running drama series with all female in lead roles. The show was also able to maintain respectable ratings all through its run. It can now be seen in syndication.
