The Chevrolet Suburban is a full-sized SUV manufactured by American automaker General Motors. First introduced in 1935, it is the longest-lived car nameplate still being produced and has evolved considerably during its lifetime. For most of that history, the Suburban was a station wagon that had multiple duties as a police car, a fire chief vehicle, and even a limousine. The marketing as a sports utility vehicle began in the mid-1990s and has carried through to this day.
