Cold Case, a police drama, premiered on CBS in 2003 and follows a team for the Philadelphia Police Department who specialize in investigating cold cases. Created by Meredith Stiehm, she show solves a case every episode.
The show usually begins with a flashback to the cold case which can be from weeks to years. Each flashback is formatted to fit the style of the decade. If the flashback takes place in the 1930s, then it is usually in black and white. During the course of the investigation, the team talks to people who knew the victim and they try to piece together age old clues to solve the case. Each episode ends with the case solved and a music montage.
