Back in the 1980s two brothers went on a trip around the world and fell so in love with the California look that they decided to start a fashion line. The brothers, Custo and David, loved the psychedelic and surfer look of the West Coast with their bright colors and unique style they wanted to bring that to Spain where no such look had been seen at the time. The brothers were determined to learn all they could about design, techniques in screen printing and even graphic design. The line includes their signature knits and T-shirts full of color and one of a kind illustrations. The line has been made even more popular by all the celebrities that wear the Custo line. Custo Barcelona also includes handbags and even a denim line. While mostly popular in Europe and Australia, the line is available the world over.
As a child Custo loved graphic design and set out to start a career in architecture, but the trip changed his career path. The truly unique shirt designs captured the interest of people and were the only designers doing this type of design around the world. They teamed up with a textile company named Meybe to finance their business and give them time to decide how to proceed.
For over a decade Custo Barcelona and Meybe stayed in business until other fashion designs from all over starred to design similar looks. They broke away fro Meybe and concentrated on keeping up with their unique look and design.
