Dancing with the Stars (US) - Reality TV

Dancing with the Stars is a competitive reality show based on a British show, "Strictly Come Dancing." Various celebrities (with little or no dancing experience) partner up with professional dancers and compete against each other to determine with is the best dancer. Couples are instructed to learn various types of dances such as s the tango, the foxtrot, the waltz and more. Each round of dancing is done in front of a trio of judges: Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

The show was an instant hit when it debuted in 2005 and continues to pull in big rating for ABC, the network that airs the show. Stars that have competed on the show include Lance Bass, Cloris Leachman, Marlee Matlin, Emmitt Smith, Ian Ziering, Jerry Springer and more. Every season the announcement of what celebrities will compete in the show is highly anticipated. Stars have often said that the competition is one of the toughest because of the rigorous training and fitness regimes.
