Dave - Movie Comedies

In 1993's "Dave", directed by Ivan Reitman, Dave Kovik, the owner of a temp firm, is forced into impersonating the President following a stroke. Dave is the President's perfect match but he is amazed and appalled at the bureaucracy and corruption in the Oval Office. Dave is played by Kevin Kline and President Bill Mitchell, the first lady by Sigourney Weaver and the evil Chief of Staff by Frank Langella. Various real members of Congress and the media appeared as themselves.

The screenplay was written by Gary Ross and produced by Reitman and Lauren Shuler-Donner. The film received critical praise and earned $63.2 million at the box office. Director Oliver Stone played a cameo as a conspiracy theorist.
