
The Detroit Red Wings are a Western Conference, Central Division NHL hockey team based in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1926, they were originally known as the Cougars before changing their name to the Falcons in 1930, and then finally the Red Wings in 1932. The team is one of the “Original Six” members of the NHL. To date, they have won 17 division titles, 5 conference championships, and 11 Stanley Cups. Their home court is the Joe Louis Arena and the team’s head coach is currently Mike Babcock. The Red Wings are owned by Mike IIitch. Minor league affiliates include the Grand Rapids Griffins.
