Dinosaur - Family & Animation Movies

Dinosaur image Disney released the PG-rated feature film Dinosaur, using computer-generated dinosaurs in front of live-action backgrounds, in 2000. The movie was the most expensive production of 2000, costing $130 million to make but earning over $365 million worldwide. Originally, the film was to have no dialogue in order to distinguish it from an earlier similar film, The Land Before Time.

Disney president Michael Eisner refused the no-dialogue plan for reasons of commercial viability. Dinosaurs' voices were played by such actors as D.B. Sweeney, Alfre Woodard, Ossie Davis, and Hayden Panettiere. The film received some criticism for its inaccurate portrayal of various dinosaur species' anatomies and its placement of species that lived in different periods and places together in a single time and location.
