The plot is about Jenny and Steve going a romantic weekend away, where Steve planes to propose to her at a remote lake when they are all alone. When they get to the lake, things start to go horribly wrong. There is a gang of obnoxious kids at the lake trying to provoke them and things escalate from there onto a shocking and violent confrontation and ends in a surprising way. The consensus stated that it was a brutal and effective British hoodie-horror that, despite the cliches, stays on the right side of scary. Eden Lake was nominated for two awards at the British Independent Film Awards and won an award at Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival.
