
ER, a medical drama on NBC, premiered in 1994 and is the longest running dramas on the network. The show is set in Chicago's Cook County hospital and follows the doctors and nurses who work their as they try to juggle work and a personal life.
The show was a ratings powerhouse in its first few seasons, and while the show did dip in the ratings as it went on, it has always maintained a large audience. The series, from the mind of author Micheal Crichton, is also responsible for making
George Clooney a star. After 15 years, the series is set to air its final episode in 2009.
