Kyle Newman directed the 2009 film Fanboys. The movie is about a group of friends who are anxious for the premiere of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. They decide to break into Skywalker Ranch to steal an early print of the film and all hell breaks loose. The film stars Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler, Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette and Kristen Bell. Filmmaker George Lucas gave the film his stamp of approval after seeing a rough cut of the film. Lucas also offered the use of original Star Wars sound effects for use in the movie. Fanboys is scheduled to be released in February, 2009.
