Principal shooting took place at the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii. Filming also took place in Los Angeles, California. The movie was released to mostly positive reviews on April 18, 2008. It debuted at the number two spot at the box office. There is a spin-off in the works tentatively titled Get Him to the Greek. The spin-off focuses on Russell Brand and Jonah Hill’s characters from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
