George Clooney is a world famous actor and director. He is known for his cool and smug demeanor. While his breakthrough role was on the television drama
ER, he began his career ten years earlier with smaller roles in TV shows. His acting debut was actually in 1984 on the program
ER, which although unrelated to 1994’s
ER, was also about an emergency room. He then got various roles on television shows such as The Facts of Life, Murder She Wrote, Golden Girls, and
Roseanne.
Since
ER, Clooney has broken into the world of film, appearing in such movies as From Dusk Till Dawn, The Peacemaker,
Batman & Robin, Out of Sight, Three Kings,
The Perfect Storm, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Ocean’s Eleven, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (his directorial debut), Intolerable Cruelty, Good Night and Good Luck, Syriana, and
Michael Clayton. He has been nominated for an Academy Award as an actor, a director, and as a writer. He even won for Best Supporting actor for his role in the film Syriana.
Clooney declined to come back and guest star on
ER during its final season, even though several cast originals would be coming back (some of which had died off on the show).
