Gilligan's Island was a comedy that aired on CBS from 1964 to 1967. The story tells a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started on a tropic port aboard a tiny ship, the U.S.S. Minnow. The ship was supposed to go on a three hour tour but got caught in a storm and stranded all the passengers on a deserted island.
The show was a hit during its short three season run and got even bigger after the show entered syndication. The character of Gilligan made a huge impact on popular culture. Despite its success, the show was canceled in the last minute.
