According to the first Godzilla movie, Godzilla awakened and mutated as a result of the testing of the hydrogen bomb. The American version of Godzilla contained scenes from the Japanese version with narration by and footage of Raymond Burr's character Steve Martin. Godzilla's characteristics have remained the same over the years, but his appearance has changed somewhat. He has a characteristic look; he is a giant, mutant
dinosaur with rough, bumpy gray scales, and has a long, powerful tail. His atomic breath is his most powerful weapon. His dorsal plates glow when he blasts his atomic breath.
