Goku is the English name of the fictional character in the Dragon Ball series created by Akira Toriyama. He is loosely based on Sun Wukong, a character in Journey to the West.
Goku is a monkey-tailed boy with superhuman strength. Subsequent storylines reveal he is actually from a fictional race of extraterrestrials called Saiyans. The Saiyans are the strongest warriors within the fictional universe. Goku has also appeared in Neko Majin Z. His abilities inlcude, super
speed, reflexes, and the power to fly with the aid of chi. Goku is also known to be compassionate, and his character has been used to demonstrate that there are emotional as well as physical consequences to violence.
He has appeared in films, specials, and video games. Goku has been voiced by Masako Nozawa, Barbara Goodson, Saffron Henderson, Ian James Corlett, Peter Kelamis, Ceyli Delgadillo, Zoe Slusar, Jeffrey Watson, Brianne Siddall, and Steven Jay Blum.
