Actor Clint Eastwood directed and co-produced the 2008 American drama film Gran Torino. The screenplay was provided by Nick Schenk. The movie features a predominantly Hmong cast. The film stars Clint Eastwood as Walt Kowalski. Other actors in the film include, Bee Vang, Ahney Her, Christopher Carley, Brooke Chia Thao, Chee Thao, Sonny Vue, Doua Moua, Jerry Lee, Lee Mong Vang, and Scott Eastwood. Clint Eastwood’s son, Kyle, provided the film score. Gran Torino was released by Warner Bros. on December 12, 2008 to mostly positive reviews. Gran Torino was named one of the Ten Best Films of 2008 by the American Film Institute. Eastwood won an award for Best Actor from the National Board of Review.
