
Grey's Anatomy is a medical drama on ABC. The show was an instant hit when it debuted as a mid season replacement in 2005. The show centers around Dr. Meredith Grey (
Ellen Pompeo) who at the begining of the show was a surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital. Since the, Meredith has become a resident and so have her friends.
Aside form it heart wrenching storylines the show is also know for its use of music and has been responsible for helping some song reach the top of the music charts. The show has also been responsible for introducing new words and saying into pop culture including, "McDreamy," "McSteamy," and "Vajajay." The show even spawned a spin-off, "

The show has also been the talk of controversy off the screen. Creator Shonda Rhimes has often taken criticism for the way the characters' storylines have progressed and fans displeasure at the romantic pairing of some of the characters. The actors themselves have also been topic of tabloid news. The most famous incident was when former cast member Isaiah Washington called a co-star T.R. Knight an offensive word. There have also been threats of actors leaving, but still the show remains one of the top shows in the ratings.
