High School Musical franchise. The film was released theatrically on October 24, 2008 to mixed reviews. The film’s budget was $13.3 million dollars, it went on to gross over $241 million at the box office worldwide.

The movie saw the return of Kenny Ortega as director. Also returning were actors Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman. The success of the
High School Musical franchise has prompted a third sequel. Disney Channel Worldwide president Rich Ross confirmed that the script for
High School Musical 4 was being written, but refused to give any further details.
