Hitachi - Consumer Electronics

Hitachi Ltd. is a multinational corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It is the key member of the Hitachi Group, a conglomerate specializing in developing and manufacturing a variety of high technology products and systems. Outside of Japan, Hitachi is mostly known for its electronic devices such as televisions, hard disks, and various other computer components. Hitachi however also has an industrial subgroup responsible for developing construction machinery, railway vehicles, and even nuclear power systems.

Among Hitachi's achievements are developing a computer-aided traffic control system for the Shinkansen bullet train in 1970, developing a plasma Tokamak fusion device in 1985, and the first silent, liquid cooled notebook in 2002.
