Hyundai - General Automotive

Hyundai Motor Company is an automobile manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. The word Hyundai itself means “modern” in Korean and it is South Korea’s largest automaker and the world’s fifth largest by yearly units sold. While initially having a reputation for poor reliability, Hyundai has done much to remake its image. Its current vehicle lineup now continues to rate on par with certain Japanese models in reliability ratings. Many call the upcoming Hyundai Genesis as a serious competitor to more expensive luxury brands like Lexus and BMW.

Hyundai acquired rival, Kia Motors in 1998.
