I Love Lucy was a sitcom on CBS that ran from 1951 to 1957. The show is considered one of the one of the pioneers in television sitcoms. It was the first to use a three camera system to film, which has become standard practice in the industry. It was also one of the first shows to be filmed in Hollywood (most shows at the time were filmed in New York) and was also the first show to show a pregnant woman on television and the first to show an interracial married couple.
The show was also unique as it was staged as a theater play would be and retakes and bloopers were often rare. Decades later I Love Lucy continues to be extremely popular and has mad a major impact in pop culture.
